Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?: We are at 14 Dave Street on Nantucket. Near the main rotary, across from the Stop & Shop. (Maps: Google | Yahoo!)
How do I find out what band is performing and when?: Check the calendar section of site or call the club at 508-228-9717.
How do I get tickets for shows?: We sell advance tickets for some national acts. These can only be purchased at the bar. Tickets go on sale one week prior. We can hold tickets at "will call". Requests for "will call" tickets must be submitted to jordin@thechickenbox.com. For most nights, the cover charge ranges from $7 to $10. Entrance is on a first come first served basis.
What time do bands go on stage? Until when do they play?: Most bands begin at 10pm and end their set at 1am, with a short break in between. Some national acts only perform a single 90-120 minute set - so they take the stage at approximately 11pm, and play until 1am without a break.
When are you open?: We open at noon everyday. Last call is 1am.
When are you closed?: Never! We are open 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We may doze, but we don’t close.
How old do I have to be to get into The Box?: We are strictly a 21+ club.
Do you accept credit cards?: Yes. Visa, Master Card, Amex, Discover.
Do you have an ATM?: Yes. It has a big ATM sign on it and it spits out money. Cool, huh?
Do you serve food?: No, but there are many restaurants in the immediate area. We serve beer, wine, spirits, and good music.
OK. You have live music. But what else can you do for me?: We have 10 TV's, a ping pong table, 7 dart boards, 3 pool tables, and beer, wine, and spirits.
Can I smoke in The Box?: You can't smoke "in" The Box, but we do have a smoking deck.
Can I take my drink on the smoking deck?: Yes.
Are there hotels near The Box?: There are lots of inns and hotels near us. Nantucket Accommodations can help you find a room (508-228-9559).
